Night Time Buzz

“To fill the hour — that is happiness.”
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Even though the sun might have gone down, it doesn’t mean that your enjoyment of Wyre has to be put on hold. Indeed that’s when many of our towns revive themselves, with a wealth of ways to satisfy those seeking entertainment, sustenance or just to be a part of a great atmosphere.

Wyre has an abundance of excellent restaurants, which serve a wide variety of British, continental and world cuisines. Poulton-le-Fylde has developed a fabulous café culture, where you can enjoy a family meal or a lively night out with friends. Similarly Garstang has plenty to offer in evening entertainment, with live music, lively bars and family friendly restaurants.

Lancashire harvests some of the finest and freshest food from both land and sea and we are proud of the wealth of provisions, which can be found in the wonderful restaurants and cafes in the area: Sit at the table to Fleetwood fish, caught a matter of only hours before, feast upon delicious Lancashire cheese, honey and Bowland lamb and beef.

We have some of the finest restaurants in Wyre, serving some of the most excellent local produce – what better combination can there be than to be with friends and family, having a fabulous time over luscious food and drink?

For those who love live entertainment, visit the Marine Hall at Fleetwood or the Thornton Little Theatre, both built during the thirties, the heyday of show business. Their year-round programmes are packed to the brim with musical and dramatic productions, both professional and amateur, from “trad” jazz to panto, rock bands to poetry.

The Fylde Folk Festival held in autumn each year attracts folk music lovers from across the British Isles to hear some of the best musicians in their field put their own mark on traditional folk. The annual Oyster festival held in Bilsborrow during September is one not to miss for those who love Ireland’s finest trinity - stout, oysters and good old Gaelic craic!

Evenings are to be enjoyed and here in Wyre. You can certainly choose how you spend yours. So what are you waiting for - get your glad rags on! And when it is time for bed, relax in style in one of Wyre’s graded establishments, where you are guaranteed high standards of service and facilities.
