So much to do and so little time – We don’t do ‘bored’ in Wyre. Your leisure time is precious and we know that you want to spend it wisely. So confident are we that you will love your time in Wyre, we are sure we can tempt even the hardiest workaholic away from their labour.
What better way of spending your days than with the children enjoying an activity, which will encourage their creativity or their environmental awareness? Wyre has a fantastic summer programme of events, just for the kids or a year-round list of events for the whole family to enjoy.
You can visit the open farms to watch the lambing or enjoy one of the traditional festivals held throughout spring, such as the Childrens’ Festivals in Garstang. Summer is a great time to go to one of the traditional galas or annual country shows. Great Eccleston, Garstang and the Scorton Vintage & Country Fair all have an excellent reputation for being great fun and an opportunity for the family to watch the main ring entertainment or spend some money in the local craft and food marquees.
The Green Flag awarded Wyre Estuary Country Park is a wonderful place to take the children. Fully accessible, the park and visitor centre offer an opportunity to buy refreshments, walk along the network of footpaths or sit and watch the wildlife alongside the jet skis and boats making the most of the estuary.
Fleetwood and Cleveleys are always a great choice of destination for family fun. Small children will enjoy making sandcastles on the beach, whilst older children will enjoy some of the entertainment at the theatres or catch a film at the new cinema in Cleveleys or doing what they do best - shopping.
