To mark 60 years of The Queen's reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012.

The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June. 

However, there will be plenty going on throughout Wyre from the end of May and well into June to celebrate. 


Jubilee events in Wyre

  • On Thursday 31 May there will be a Diamond Jubilee Party at Poulton library at 2.15pm. Tickets are required so call 01253 888900 for details.

  • On Sunday 3 June, Guy's Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow are holding a Diamond Jubilee Family Fun Day from 1pm - 6pm. It's free admission, click here to find out more or call 01995 640010.

  • Garstang and District Children's Festival will be themed on the Jubilee celebrations this year. Monday 4 June, 11am - 7.30pm. Call 01995 604549 for details.

  • Fleetwood Diamond Jubilee Celebration is taking place within the Marine Gardens at Fleetwood (moving into the Marine Hall itself in inclement weather) on Monday 4 June. It will kick off with the BIG lunch community picnic at 12 noon and throughout the day there will be a packed programme of entertainment right into the evening. Call 01253 887693 for details.

  • Join the Wyre Rangers for a 4 - 5 mile walk to Jubilee Tower in Bowland to enjoy a sunset from a terrific place on the longest day of the year, Thursday 21 June. 7pm - 9.30pm. Booking is essential, call 01995 602125. Cost: £3/£2.

  • Finally, there will be a Diamond Jubilee Party and Disco on Friday 22 June at Red Marsh School in Thornton from 6.30pm - 9pm. £2.50 per ticket (under 2's are FREE). Call 01253 868451 for further details.
