Type: Garden

Take all the family to Cobble Hey Farm & Gardens for a great day out in the beautiful Bowland Fells.

Kids of all ages will love making friends with the friendly farm animals and rare breeds. There are plenty of seasonal activities such as lamb feeding and chick holding which is sure to get everyone excited. If the kids have energy to burn then they will love the play area - there is no shortage of things to climb and swing from!

After all that excitement the beautiful garden at Cobble Hey offers a calm and tranquil place to explore. Head off along the trails through woodland and rockeries to see some of the unusual plants grown alongside old favourites. The plant nursery also means you can take your own special plant home with you at the end of the day.

The best way to see the surrounding countryside is to head out for a walk (there are a range of walks depending on your mood - from 40 minutes to 5 hours) and as a Lapwing conservation area it’s the perfect place to catch sight of some of Lancashire’s varied bird life - just don’t forget your binoculars! Everyone will love the spectacular views over the Forest of Bowland and on clear day see if you can spot the Welsh mountains and the Isle of Man.

After all that fresh air a visit to Cobble Hey’s award winning tearoom is a must. Chose from a variety of mouth watering homemade cakes and delicious meals, all made using local produce.

They serve local food in the tearoom and use own home grown/reared produce where ever possible. They always re-use materials within the garden and have a strong recycling policy. Cobble Hey has switched to energy saving lighting and have a wood burning stove which uses thinnings from their own woodland, and ash from the stove is used on the garden. They also have a strong commitment to education and working with local schools and other partnerships.
