For those looking for something that little bit different. A unique, craftsmen built quiet rural retreat set within a woodland wildlife garden based just outside the village of Pilling, Lancashire situated 10 miles or so from Lancaster ,Preston, Blackpool and the Fylde coast.

The Gardener’s Cottage is on the organic market garden of Growing with Nature run by Alan and Debra Schofield. A box of our organically grown seasonal produce is available complimentary to guests on arrival. A tour around the market garden is available by arrangement.

The Cottage accommodates four people with ease in one double and one twin bedroom. A new luxury bathroom has a rain shower and whirlpool bath in which to pamper yourselves during your stay with us. The Cottage stands in just under ½ acre of woodland garden complete with a gazebo which gives shade from the mid day sun and a bonfire area and barbeque for those long hazy summer nights. The garden area is rich in wildlife especially birds. After dark the bats come out to play. A barn owl and tawny owl are frequently seen just before or after dark as they hunt along the dykes and ditches of the local farmland. Gardeners Cottage is also a clear sky location with no nearby streetlights for the astronomically minded. The uninterrupted views across the fields east to the Trough of Bowland are extensive due to the low lying surrounding area and we get some spectacular sunrises and sunsets under the large sky. So if you are looking to get away from it all and stay somewhere different with access to a private garden within walking distance of the village shop and pub then the Gardeners Cottage is a must. It is in a very private location.
