Bumper Easter for Wyre!

15th April 2011

Categories: Latest News

Wyre is gearing up for an Easter eggstravaganza with a host of events over the weekend for people of all ages to enjoy.

There'll be plenty of fun on the farm, both at Farmer Parrs in Fleetwood and Old Holly Farm in Cabus, both of which open until 5pm every day during the holidays. See and feed the new spring lambs and welcome newly hatched chicks as well as join in children's activities.

At Farmer Parrs there are Easter egg hunts, owl flying and  special appearances from the Easter bunny. Old Holly Farm, meanwhile, will also be opening new outdoor animal paddocks

More bank holiday fun at Guy's Thatched Hamlet, Bilsborrow, from a farmers market and a magic show to egg decorating and rolling, set in a scenic location right by the canal.

If music's your thing, the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood is staging an Easter jazz weekend from Friday to Sunday, featuring Spats Langham and Six-in-a-bar with Rosie, plus Mike Lovell Allstars.

Or why not watch the spectacular sight of the whimbrel flying to roost at dusk on Easter Sunday. A small relative of the curlew, these beautiful birds use Barnacre Reservoir as an important staging post on their journey from Africa to Iceland. Booking is essential - call 01995 602125.

For a complete list of eggciting things to do at Easter and beyond take a look at our events page or call in at any of Wyre’s Visitor Information Centres which are open over the bank holiday weekend.
