Garstang resident Norah Hoyles MBE has been recognised as a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom Champion for her greenfingered services to the local community which have transformed the town and boosted tourism.

The RHS spring newsletter 'Growing Communities' profiles the outstanding work which Norah has achieved during her 24 years as Chairman of Garstang in Bloom including countless gold awards at regional, national and international level for 'In Bloom' and 'Entente Florale'.

This year, Garstang in Bloom will take up another international challenge where they will compete against entrants from across the world under the spotlight of a team of Canadian judges.
