Twelve Restaurant Retains Bib Gourmand
20th January 2011
Categories: Latest News
The 2011 Michelin Guide has been released and Twelve Restaurant in Thornton has retained its Bib Gourmand* for the seventh year running. A fantastic achievement as only 26 establishments throughout the whole of Great Britain and Ireland received the accolade this year.
After being the only restaurant to receive a Bib Gourmand in 2010, another two Lancashire restaurants join Twelve this year – The Freemasons in Wiswell and La Locanda in Gisburn. This really helps to showcase Lancashire as the top choice for dining out that it is.
Twelve had a successful 2010 opening up their very own ‘Corner Shop’ selling delicious products used by their chefs in the restaurant itself. They also hosted the Lancashire Cook-Off in which their own amateur chefs competed in teams, with their 2 courses judged by diners to be crowned ‘Kitchen Hero.’
*Bib is short for Bibendum, the “Michelin Man” character, symbol of the Michelin company. Bib Gourmand indicates a restaurant offering good food at moderate prices.
