Born in Prestatyn, North Wales and brought up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Rod’s start in music was learning to play gospel songs on a ukulele then guitar.

In ’63 he changed musical direction joining a group called The Wheels, whom along with Van Morrison were the only people playing R‘n’B in Belfast at the time.

Rod has also toured the US supporting Dire Straits and collaborated with Dr. John, Guitar Shorty, Mojo Buford, Ron Kavana, Jack E McAuley, Terry Woods and Gatemouth Brown.
