Blackpool Easter Hockey Festival is now in it’s 61st year. The 2012 festival will take place over the weekend of the 6th – 9th April, at Stanley Park, Blackpool.

The festival is open to mens, ladies and mixed teams.

The weekend includes three games of 11-a-side hockey per day and one on Easter Monday, so each team will play ten matches in total. The majority of matches are played on astro-turf but some games are played on grass… which is always a challenge!

Each game lasts 25 minutes with a 5 minute interval and are always officiated by two qualified umpires, with games being centrally timed.

The infamous social events on the Friday and Saturday include competitions, DJ’s and a few surprises, with each night ending in Club Sanuk, THE best club in Blackpool, even if we do say so ourselves!

The final night on Easter Sunday involves the legendary fancy-dress competition, where winning top prize is everything! The festival comes to a close on the Monday with each team playing off for their final position.
