The 1940's brought to life with a bang! From the dark days of Dunkirk, through the blitz and hard times on the home front to D-Day and victory in Europe and Asia, come join in the atmosphere and immerse yourself in a brilliant weekend of entertainment, re-enactment and have-a-go fun!
Historic Vehicles, music and dance, memorabilia, thrilling battles, educational talks and demonstrations plus living history camp!

1940s Wartime Weekend Programme –
‘The Arena’ - Witness a mock WW2 battle scene using authentic uniforms and equipment. The re-enactments and battle display area will be cordoned off for simulated gun fire/bomb blasts. The shows will have a commentator and will explain the action taking place within the arena.
• Early war battles – depicting and bring alive the general history of the Russians –v- Germans.
• Late war battles – The allied forces Britain/America –v- Germans.
‘Entertainment Zone’ - This area will be the Family / Entertainment Zone.
"PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DURING THE RE-ENACTMENT THAT THERE WILL BE LOUD BANGS DURING THESE PERFORMANCES SO IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT NO DOGS BE ALLOWED".
Family Fun as children are put through an obstacle course or learn a home guard drill. Listen to the sounds of the 40’s stage as performers sing favourite tunes of that time.
Interactive activities for children -
UK Home Front, Assault Course and rifle range runs all day 10am to 5pm with refreshment break.
Replica Spitfires
Stage area: Entertainment, music from the 1940s
Information stalls – RAFA, Help the Heroes, Spitfire Appeal, British Legion, etc
Opening time (10.00) and closing time (17.00), please take into account that there will be breaks between shows to give the re-enactors a pause for refreshment.
‘Living History’ - This area will be devoted to both vehicle display and Living History encampments. The vehicles will be parked on the Green along West Beach and between the vehicles and the seafront will be the Living History camps.
Vehicle Procession from Lytham to St Annes return to Lytham, 12noon start from Lytham
Saturday 18th August at 7pm "Blitz Bride" this will be performed at Lytham Methodist Church, Park Street, Lytham FY8 5LU. Tickets are £7.50 full/£6.50 for concessions. The play starts at 7pm and will finish at 8.20pm.

All interested parties wishing to display or take part in the 1940s Lytham event, must have permission from Jo Stirling-Brown - email: stirling-brown@hotmail.co.uk
* Parking facilities will be available on the Green, pay and display.
* Military vehicle entrants ( None MVT ) should be directed to - stirling-brown@hotmail.co.uk
* All vehicle entrants MUST register and MUST be pre 1945. Other entrants will not be admitted.
* All vehicle entrants MUST have PLI and should bring proof of this.
Only official re-enactors will be allowed to park on the triangle at Lytham Green.
All other camping must be off site – Great Birchwood Country Park ((01772 633162 or administrator@fort-san-antone.com) approx 1.5miles from the event site. NB. This event is purely for 1940s related participants, vehicles, etc.
The event site will have security guards on duty day and night. Friday evening to Sunday evening

Vintage Fairs taking place at The Assembly Rooms, Dicconson Terrace and St Cuthberts Church Hall 18th/19th August, Tea Dance Sunday 2pm to 5pm St Cuthberts Church Hall on Sunday 19th August.
VINTAGE FAIR at St Cuthberts Church Hall on Saturday, August 18th from 10am until 4pm. This will feature classic fashion, style, jewellery, accessories, up-cycling, homewares and hardwar. A 'pop-up' period tea room selling assorted teas in fine china, assorted home-made cakes, fresh 'classic' sandwiches (like salmon, cheese & pickles etc) and Strawberries with elderflower 'champagne'. Period music in the shape of the legendary entertainer Les Holmes (TBC).
Entry is £1 which includes a donation to Rosemere Cancer Foundation. Stallholders - There are (very few) pitches available which are £30 for a pitch including a table
